Taito’s EGRET II Mini is coming to the West

EGRETT II Mini

Looks like it’s time to make more space on our retro-gaming shelves because Taito’s EGRET II Mini will be making its way to North America and Europe in 2022. It’s a mini-arcade cabinet with 40 pre-installed classic games.

When it was first announced, we thought that the EGRET II Mini was only going to be available in Japan, but German publisher United Games Entertainment has secured the exclusive rights for its distribution outside of the Asian country.

The EGRET II Mini is a faithful Taito mini-arcade cabinet, just like the ones you’d find in a local arcade venue in Japan. Some of the games included are Space Invaders, Bubble Bobble, Lunar Rescue, Qix, Elevator Action, Chack’n Pop, Don Doko Don, and many more.

Some of the features of this mini-arcade are:

  • 40 pre-installed games.
  • 5-inch 4:3 rotating screen with a 1024×768 resolution.
  • Individually adjustable Joysticks
  • HDMI output
  • Two USB Type-A Controller ports
  • SD card slot
  • Stereo speakers
  • Instruction panel
  • Save states, adjustable lives, and rapid-fire options

And not only that, you’ll be able to add 10 more games via an SD card that will be included in the Paddle and Trackback Game Expansion Set.

More information about pre-sales and availability will be given in the following months.
