2022 is aiming to be a great year for gaming. Not only will we be able to play AAA titles like God of War Ragnarok, Elden Ring, Starfield, and possibly Bayonetta 3 and the Breath of the Wild sequel. But we’ll also play some awesome indie games on pretty much every platform. One of this year’s most popular games from the last couple of weeks has been Wordle, a small word-puzzle game that you can play for free on your browser. And now, you can also play it on a Game Boy.
Worlde has become this year’s viral game. Everyone seems to be playing it, from celebrities to your aunts. It was recently acquired by the New York Times, but it will remain free for everyone for the time being.
Youtuber and Twitter user @ghidraninja is an IT security researcher who is an expert in reverse engineering games. He shared on his Twitter account how he was able to make Wordle playable on an original Game Boy and on the newer Analogue Pocket console via a ROM. If you wish to download the files, you can do it at the following link: https://nezza.github.io/gbwordle/roms.html
The only difference with the original Wordle game is the fact that you can’t share your results on your social accounts, but at least you can take it on the go. And not only that, but you can also play this version directly on your browser: https://nezza.github.io/gbwordle/
@ghidraninja was in fact inspired by another modder who made a Wordle version on a PalmVII. So, where are you going to play it next?
