Without a doubt, Tim Schafer is one of the most prestigious video game developers in history. Combining classic novel-like narrative with simple gameplay, most of his games are now considered industry classics. He will be awarded at the upcoming 11th Annual New York Game Awards with the Andrew Yoon Legend Award.
Schafer made games for many years as part of LucasArts, where he worked on classic games like The Secret of Monkey Island, Full Throttle, Grim Fandango, and Day of the Tentacle. And on later years, he founded the studio Double Fine where he made games like Psychonauts, Brütal Legend, Costume Quest, and Broken Age, among many others.
The Award Ceremony will take place on Feb. 1st at 8:00 p.m. ET, and it will be streamed on Twitch and YouTube.
