San Diego Comic Convention cancelled due to covid-19

For the first time in the convention’s 50 year history, the San Diego Comic Convention (SDCC for short) has been cancelled to the global pandemic caused by the corona virus. The convention will, however, return next year from July 22th to July 25th. SDCC announced people who have already purchased badges for the now cancelled event will be able to get a refund for them, or use them at the convention next year instead. An email with details on how to get a refund will be sent next week. The same goes for exhibitors who were planned to be at this year’s convention.

David Glanzer, spokesperson for the SDCC, gave this message about the unfortunate news:

Extraordinary times require extraordinary measures and while we are saddened to take this action, we know it is the right decision. We eagerly look forward to the time when we can all meet again and share in the community we all love and enjoy.
