Myst TV series in the works

Myst is a legendary adventure game. It was originally released for the Macintosh in 1993, but later ported to many other systems. Being an immediate hit, it is famous for bringing the break-through for the CD-ROM format as well as being the most sold PC game until 2002 when it was beaten by The Sims. The game has spawned several sequels, comic books, spiritual successors, and now, also a TV series.

It will be written by Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles and X-Men: First Class screenwriter Ashley Edward Miller. He will be joined by the original developer Rand Miller and his brother Ryan Miller who also worked on the game and will produce the show. It is also said making a films based on the franchise is planned.

Myst tells the story of the D’ni race coming to Earth nearly 10 millennia ago. Their magical skills allowed them to create portals to other worlds by using books. A geologist known as Anna finds the D’ni civilization thanks to these books, marries a D’ni and has a son with him. The lore of the TV series will follow the one in the game and expand upon it.
