Final Fantasy I-VI Pixel Remasters announced

Square-Enix have made a huge overhaul on their first six mainline entries in the classic RPG franchise. Called “Pixel Remasters”, each game will feature updated pixel art graphics, as well as a rearranged soundtrack and “modernised UI”. Some extras such as beastiaries, illustration galleries and a player for the soundtracks are also added.

Kazuko Shibuya, original character pixel artist of the games, and composer Nobuo Uematsu have both contributed to the overhauls, which are all brand new. Square-Enix states some additions to previous remakes may not be added in these new versions.

The first three entries will be available on Steam and mobile phones on 28th of July. The release date for the other three are yet to be announced, but it will be sometime this year.
