Analogue announces Pocket – a handheld clone of Game Boy systems

Having previously released clones of the NES, Genesis/Mega Drive and SNES, Analogue now enters the portable gaming market. Pocket will play around 2800 games released for the Game Boy, Game Boy Color and Game Boy Advance. It will also play Game Gear, Neo Geo Pocket Color and Atari Lynx games, if using cartridge adapters for the respective systems, which are sold separately. There will be plentiful of other accessories available, such as a hard case, link cables for up to four players and a power supply.

Analogue prides itself on high quality, and this will be no exception. Using a 3.5” Gorilla Glass screen with 10 times the resolution of the original Game Boy. But if that’s too small for you, you can also plug it to your HDMI TV to play it big, if using a docking station (also sold separately). Pocket also comes with a sleep mode, letting you quickly pick up where you left off in any game. One interesting feature is the built in audio workstation, Nanoloop. It allows you to create or play music live with its sequencer and synthesizer.

Pocket will be released in May 2021, but you can pre-order it from August 3rd onwards. The price will be $199.99.
