Centipede is back with a new game!

Centipede, released by Atari in 1981, is still one of the most fun classic arcade video games. Celebrating its 40th anniversary, a new game is on its way to modern consoles, PC, and Atari VCS. It’s called Centipede: Recharged and it will have new features to make it more appealing
to modern gamers.

As you can see, it has a new visual design but the concept of the game remains pretty much the same. It reminds me of other classic game reboots like Pac-Man Championship Edition and Missle Command: Recharged.

It will be available on Sept. 29 on PC (Steam/Epic Store), PS4, PS5, Xbox Series S|X, Nintendo Switch, and Atari VCS. You’ll be able to compare your high scores with players around the world, and you can play with a friend via local co-op.

If you play it on Atari VCS you’ll have extra challenges and the possibility to use one of their Wireless Classic Joysticks.
